1957 yılında doğdu. İstanbul Üniversitesi Fen Fakültesi Biyoloji-Genetik bölümünü bitirdi. Biyolog olarak 15 yıl İstanbul'da özel sağlık sektöründe çalıştı. Fotoğrafla ilgilenmeye 1975 yılında başladı. İFSAK fotoğraf kulübü üyesidir. 1987 yılında İFSAK yönetiminde bulundu. Farklı zamanlarda değişik şehirlerde kişisel ve karma sergi ve dia gösterilerine katıldı. Bazı toplumsal projelerde fotoğraf çalışmalarıyla yer aldı. Birçok ulusal yarışmada çeşitli ödüller ve sergilemeler kazandı. En önemli ödülü İstanbul'a vefa borcunu ödediği 1987 Haliç Altın boynuz 1.incilik ödülüdür. 1996 yılından beri yaşamını Antalya'nın Kaş ilçesinde sürdürmektedir. Eşi Tunç Üvendire ile birlikte İpek yolu adında etnik eşya ve takı koleksiyonlarından oluşan dükkânlarının ve fotoğraf galerilerinin sezonluk olarak kapanmasıyla beraber uzun yurtdışı seyahatlerine çıkmakta ve fotoğrafın büyülü yolculuğuna devam etmektedir.
She was born in 1957. She received her bachelor degree in Biology -Human genetics from Istanbul University and worked over 15 years as a biologist in private health sector in Istanbul. She started having an interest in photography in 1975. She is a member of IFSAK (Istanbul Photography and Cinema Amateurs Club). She served in managing board of IFSAK in 1987. She participated in many personal and joined exhibitions, had many slide shows in different times in different cities and won many awards and exhibiting prizes in various national competitions. She took part in some social projects with her photography. Most important of her awards as a tribute to Istanbul is first prize in Golden Horn Halic Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality competition. She has been living in Kas, a small coastal town of Antalya, since 1996. They join expeditions of long travels of photography with her husband Tunç Üvendire as their shop called Silkroad which sells collectibles of ethnic decorative objects and jewellery and textiles, as well as their photograph gallery, close for the winter season of five months. And she continues to journey in the magical world of photography...
